SULLY - Funeral services for John Wouda, 80, of Sully, a longtime Sully area resident, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 22, at the Sully First Reformed Church.

The Rev. Ralph Menning, pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Sully Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Sully Garden Chapel Funeral Home all day today and family visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials to the church will be accepted.

He died Monday at the Pella Community Hospital.

Survivors are his wife, Henrietta; a daughter and son-in-law, Sheryl and Adrian Rozenboom of Pella; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Florence Rodwell and Freda Gray, both of Oskaloosa; and a brother, Bertus of Vallejo, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, John Eldon.

Mr. Wouda, a member of the Sully First Reformed Church, farmed and was a truck driver.

The son of Peter and Henrietta Groenenboom Wouda, he was born Jan. 10, 1913 in Eddyville and was raised in the Knoxville area and educated in Knoxville area schools.

He was married to Henrietta budding Sept. 12, 1940 in Sully. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, April 1993
