SULLY - Henrietta Budding Wouda, 80, of Sully, a lifelong resident of the Lynnville-Sully-Searsboro area, died Friday, Sept. 25, at the Pella Community Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Sully First Reformed Church.

The Rev. Roger Punt will conduct services.

Burial will be in Sully Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Pella Garden Chapel Funeral Home all day today and visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials to the Sully First Reformed Church may be left at the funeral home.

Survivors are a daughter and son-in-law, Sheryl Lynn and Adrian Rozenboom of Pella; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are two sisters, Eva Anders of Oskaloosa and Nola Smith of Goldfield; and a brother, John Budding of Wilton.

Mrs. Wouda was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John, April 19, 1993, a son, John, and four sisters, Nellie Klein, Francis Smith, Jennie Kucera and Bertha Ludwick, and a brother, Joe Budding Jr.

She was a member of the Sully First Reformed Church.

The daughter of Joe and Anna Marie Van Engelenberg Budding, she was born July 20, 1913 in Lynnville.

She grew up and attended school in the Lynnville-Searsboro area and for the next 12 years worked as a nanny for several families.

She was married to John Wouda Sept. 12, 1940 in Sully.

They farmed and made their home in the Lynnville-Sully area. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, September 1993
