J. Albert Weeks

J. Albert Weeks, 76, of 613 E. 23rd St. N., a resident of Newton since 1960, died Saturday, April 10, at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines of complications of cancer.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home.

The Rev. James Black, pastor of the Foursquare Church, will conduct services.

Memorials to Progress Industries or the American Cancer Society will be accepted.

Surviving is a sister-in-law, Helen Diehl of Newton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Everett and Clyde.

Mr. Weeks, who attended the Foursquare Church, had worked in the sheltered workshop at Progress Industries since July 28, 1980.

The son of Albert and Jadie Larson Weeks, he was born Jan.8, 1917 in Dayton.

He had resided in Woodward from Nov. 4, 1924 until June 19, 1950. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, June 1993
