Charles Webb

MITCHELLVILLE - Charles Webb, 66, of Mitchell Village Care Center, a former resident of Colfax, died Sunday evening, Dec. 12, at the care center.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Walter-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax.

The Rev. Walter Grimes, pastor of the Mitchellville Christian Church, will conduct services.

Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery in Indianola.

Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Wednesday and visitation with the family will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Survivors are a daughter, Cathy Freestone of Colfax; a son, Edward G. of Sacramento, Calif.; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Wilma, Sept. 13, 1900 (typed as written in original obituary-possibly should be 1990).

Mr. Webb was a member of the Christian Church and the Riverside Masonic Lodge in Colfax.

The son of Ed and Elsie Craig Webb, he was born Nov. 11, 1927 in Mitchellville.

He was married to Wilma Peck Dec. 9, 1946 in Mitchellville.

Mr. Webb, a foreman at Triple F Inc., in Des Moines, resided in Colfax until 1969 when he moved to Des Moines.

He moved to the Mitchell Village Care Center after the death of his wife. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, December 1993
