Goldie F. Zugg, 97, of the Jasper County Care Facility, southeast of Newton, died Monday evening, Oct. 4, at the care facility.

Graveside rites will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Masonic Cemetery in Des Moines.

Friends may call at Reese Funeral Home after 1 p.m. Wednesday. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, October 1993

Goldie F. Zugg

Graveside rites for Goldie F. Clem Zugg, 97, of the Jasper County Care Facility, southeast of Newton, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, at the Masonic Cemetery in Des Moines.

The Rev. David Raymond, pastor of the Congregational United Church of Christ, will conduct services.

Friends may call at Reese Funeral Home today.

She died Monday evening at the care facility.

Survivors are a son-in-law, Curtis Ferguson of Newton; four grandchildren, including Mary Rethmeier and Barbara Holdsworth, both of Newton; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three husbands, a daughter, Elizabeth Ferguson, a son, Forrest Perry, and a grandson.

Mrs. Zugg had been a nurse's aide at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Knoxville.

The daughter of John and Jane Patterson Clem, she was born Aug. 15, 1896 in Union County and was a graduate of Creston High School.

She moved to Newton in 1972 from Davenport. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, October 1993
