Elmer Tukker

PELLA - Elmer Tukker, 72, of Pella, a former longtime resident of Otley, died Monday, April 12, at his home in Pella.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Calvary Christian Reformed Church in Pella.

The Rev. John Gorter and the Rev. Siebert Kramer, pastors of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Pella.

Memorials to the Pella Christian Schools Endowment Fund or Hospice of Pella will be accepted.

Survivors are his wife, Cornelia; a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Helene of Pella; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Larry Olivier of Pella and Eileen and Richard Burns of Prairie City; eight grandchildren; a great-grandson; and four sisters, Angeline Ryke and Catharine Holt, both of San Antonio, Texas, Freda Vander Hart of Prairie City and Elizabeth Wagner of Ankeny.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Marie Davis and Gertrude Weyers, and a brother, Cornie Tukker.

Mr. Tukker, a member of the Calvary Christian reformed Church of Pella, farmed in the Otley area until 1968 when he moved to Pella. He was employed at Van Gorp’s for 10 years, retiring in 1980.

The son of John and Anna Marinus Tukker, he was born Oct. 31, 1920 in Otley and was educated in an Otley area school

He was married to Cornelia P. De Jong Oct. 19, 1941 in Lancaster, Mo. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, April 1993
