NEVADA - Grace Elida Ferkin Solem, 97, of 630 6th St., Nevada, mother of Ruth Ann Switzer of Newton, died Monday, Sept. 27, at the Story County Hospital in Nevada.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada.

The Rev. Daniel W. Solomon will conduct services and burial will be in the Nevada Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada after 4 p.m. Thursday and visitation with family will be held from 6 to 8 pm. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials to the church will be accepted.

Also surviving are another daughter, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, September 1993
