A. Margaret Sille, 89, of Newton died Thursday, June 7, 2007, at Hospice of Jasper County’s Monarch Wing at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

Services were today at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton. Chaplain Merle Smith of Skiff Medical Center in Newton officiated. Burial was in the Newton Union Cemetery in Newton. The Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials to Hospice of Jasper County may be left at the funeral home.

Survivors include two daughters, Kay Haines of Grinnell and Judy (Robert) Hitchler of Newton; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Effie Robison of Newton; one sister-in-law, Helen Vander Schel of Newton, three step-sisters, Jenny Hoksbergen and Corrie Terpstra, both of Pella, and Evelena Van de Wege of Denver, Colo.; one step-brother, Richard Vonk of Newton; one granddaughter-in-law, Cathy (Rick) Van Wyhe; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father, Case Vonk Sr.; her husband, Joe in 1991; one son-in-law, Glenn Haines; one grandson, D. J. Haines; two sisters, Mary Marshall and Cornelia Stepka; two sisters in infancy; and one brother, Jay Vander Schel.
