Mildred Mae Cline, 89, died July 23, 2007, at the USA Health Care in Newton.

Mildred, the daughter of Herbert and Minnie (Colley) Corbett, was born July 13, 1918, in Lamar, Colo. When Mildred was 3 years of age, her parents moved their family to the Newton area. She had attended the Newton Senior High School in Newton.

Mildred was united in marriage with Max Cline in Marshalltown. She had devoted her life to her family and friends and was employed by the Maytag Company in Newton for a short time.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Max; one brother, Arlis Corbett; five sisters, Louise Dodge, Kathryn Field, Anna Jean Smith, Helen Mick and Margie Harger; and her lifelong friend, George Peters.

Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Newton. Family will greet friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time on Monday at Pence-Reese Funeral Home.

Those left to honor the memory of Mildred include two brothers, William D. (Lillian) Corbett of Baxter and LeRoy Corbett of New Sharon; two sisters, Betty Cox of Grinnell and Gloria (Barney) Stoulil of Newton; many nieces and nephews; her best friend, Coleen Thompson-Gearhart of Newton; and many other good neighbors and friends.
