MONROE - Funeral services were held today, Aug. 27, for Margaret "Peggy" Reetz, 76, a longtime resident of Monroe, at the Monroe United Methodist Church.

The Rev. Jerry Mc Gee, pastor of the church, conducted services. Burial was in Silent City Cemtery in Monroe.

Graveside memorial services were conducted by Chapter BH-PEO of Monroe.

Memorials to the Monroe United Methodist Church may be left at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe.

Mrs. Reetz died Friday at the Pella Community Nursing Home.

Survivors are a daughter, Dr. Rebecca Reetz of Lowell, Mass.; and two sisters, Lois Christenson of Grand Forks, N.D., and Elora Yanzick of Ronan, Mont.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ted, and two brothers.

Mrs. Reetz was a member of the Moroe United Methodist Church, Chapter BH PEO in Monroe and was a former longtime 4-H leader.

The daughter of Harmon and Kittie Belle Johnstone Floyd, she was born July 9, 1919 at Alzada, Mont., and was a graduate of Spearfish, S.D., High School.

She was married to Ted Reetz Aug. 19, 1939 in Des Moines and had resided in Monroe since her marriage. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, August 1990
