Edna G. Rederus, Longtime Newton Resident, Dies

Mrs. Francis R. (Edna G.) Rederus, 76, of Tucson, Ariz., a former longtime resident of Newton, died Thursday at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Wallace Funeral Home.

The Rev. William E. Sexton, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, will conduct services.

Private burial services will be held Wednesday at the Newton Union Cemetery. The casket will not be opened at any time.

Survivors are a son, George E. Rederus of Tucson, Ariz.; and three grandchildren, Rodney of Polk City, Robin of Cedar Falls and Tracie Ann of Newton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1967 and two brothers.

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Davies, she was born April 22, 1902 at Lineville.

She was married in 1938 at St. Joseph, Mo. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, July 1978
