Nelle L. Tyler Dies Wednesday, rites Saturday

Mrs. Lyle B. (Nelle L.) Tyler, 85, of 1210 S. 14th Ave. W., a resident of Newton since 1917 and a partner with her husband in a photographic studio in Newton for more than 40 years, died Wednesday evening at the Skiff Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church.

The Rev. Stan Wierson, associate pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Newton Union Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Wallace Funeral Home after noon Friday. The casket will not be opened at the church.

Memorial contributions to the First United Methodist Church will be accepted.

Survivors are three sons, Willard of Fort Worth, Tex., manager of the aviation department of Williamson-Dickie Co., James of Newton, an attorney, and Lyle B. Jr. of Milford, Mich., executive with the Ford Motor Co.; six grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Clark (Alice) Howard of Perry and Mrs. York (Hazel) McClary of Belvidere, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband June 25, 1971.

Mrs. Tyler was a member of the First United Mthodist Church, Newton Parents-Teacher Association, Women's Club and Clio Club.

Mrs. Tyler formerly had been emplyed as a school teacher in Effingham, Ill.

The daughter of the Honorable James H. and Minnie Avery Loy, she was born Oct. 28, 1892 near Effingham, Ill., and attended McKendree College in Lebanon, Ill.

She was married Sept. 3, 1917 at Effingham, Ill. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, Aug 1978
