MELBOURNE - Funeral services for Troy S. Trout, 19, of 2813 Knapp, Melbourne, a former longtime resident of Jasper County, were held today, Nov. 19, at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home in Newton.

The Rev. David Rex, pastor of the Newton Church of God, conducted services. Burial was in Newton Union Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in his name will be accepted.

He died Thursday evening at his home of a gun shot wound.

Survivors are his parents, James and Mary Elaine Thurman Trout of Melbourne, his maternal grandmother, Mary Thurman of Newton; his paternal grandmother, Doris Trout of Newton; and two sisters, Dorie and Becky Trout, both of Melbourne.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers and his great-grand-parents.

He was born July 22, 1971 in Iowa City and was a 1989 graduate of Lincoln High School in Des Moines. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, November 1990
