MONROE - Funeral services for Daisy B. Morgan Terpstra, 77, of Monroe, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at Walters Coburn-Funeral Home in Monroe.

Burial will be in Hewitt Cemetery near Reasnor.

Mrs. Terpstra, who with her husband, Doward, operated the last grocery store in Reasnor, died Wednesday evening at Pella Community Hospital.

Survivors are her husband, Doward; two sons, Alan L. of Monroe and David M. of Cumming, Ga.; a daughter, Sharon Swennumson of Des Moines; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two grandchildren.

Mrs. Terpstra was a member of the First Church of Christ Science in Des Moines, the Mayflower Society and the Daughters of the American Revolution.

The daughter of William H. and Marie Binder Morgan, she was born March 13, 1913 at Scranton.

She was married to Doward Terpstra Sept. 24, 1943 in Lincoln, Neb.

The Terpstras operated a grocery store and insurance agency in Reasnor before moving to Harrisburg, Pa., and later to Marietta, Ga.

They returned to Iowa in 1982, settling in Monroe. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, October 1990
