TARZANA, Calif. - Leola Hook Toft, 93, a former Newton resident, died Saturday, Dec. 15 of cardiac arrest following a broken hip suffered at her home in Tarzana, Calif.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 18, at the graveside in Forest Lawn-Hollywood Hills in Los Angeles, Calif., conducted by the Rev. C. David Olson of the Resurrection Lutheran Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Marjorie (Mrs. Robert) Seeley of Joshua Tree, Calif. and Mary Bess (Mrs. Stanley) Moore of Tarzana, Calif.; four grandchildren; great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews in the Newton area.

She was the youngest of 11 children of Nimrod and Leana Young. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, December 1990
