Beulah M. Talbot

Funeral services for Beulah M. Knepper Talbot, 89, of 112 S. 6th Ave. W., a resident of Newton since 1910, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23 at Reese Chapel.

The Rev. Jerry Brown, senior pastor of the Newton First United Methodist Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Newton Union Cemetery.

Memorials to the Newton First United Methodist Church may be left at the funeral home.

Mrs. Talbot died Thursday morning at the Skiff Medical Center of complications following a stroke.

Survivors are two daughters, Marilyn (Mrs. Gene) Kelley of Jacksonville, Ark., and Dorothy Hessen Loehr of Newton; four grandchildren; three step grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and four step great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Don A., in May, 1988, and a brother, Charles Knepper.

Mrs. Talbot was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Iowa K, chapter TTT, NBB Club of Newton and Chapter 100, Order of Eastern Star.

She had been employed in office of the Jasper County Auditor and for many years in the office of the Newton Manufacturing Co.

The daughter as A. V. and Lenore Hall Knepper, she was born February 4, 1902 in Monroe.

She was educated in Monroe and Newton schools and with the 1920 graduate of Newton Community High School.

She was married to Don A. Talbot Feb. 28, 1922 in Newton.

She resided in Omaha, Neb., for two years. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, November 1991
