MONROE - Jane E. Hart Nimmo, 84, a resident of Monroe since 1929, died Wednesday evening, Oct. 24, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Monroe United Methodist Church.

The Rev. Jerry Mc Gee, pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.

Memorials to the Alzheimer's Foundation may be left at the funeral home.

Survivors are three daughters, Imogene (Mrs. Forrest) Daily, Jo Anna (Mrs. Kenneth) Hollingworth and Bette (Mrs. Miles) Mc Coneghey, all of Monroe; three sons, Howard A. Jr. of Adel, Harry A. of San Francisco, Calif., and Herbert A. of West Des Moines; a brother, Ralph Hart Jr. of Oskaloosa; two sisters, Myrtle Jones of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Della Kirkpatrick of Sunnyvale, Calif; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Howard, five brothers and a son, Harlan.

The daughter of Ralph and Eliza Carr Hart, she was born Aug. 22, 1906 near Oskaloosa and was a graduate of Oskaloosa High School.

She was married to Howard Nimmo Dec. 31, 1926 in Oskaloosa. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, October 1990
