PELLA - Funeral services for Nancy Sue Nikkel, 35, of the Christian Opportunity Center in Pella, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 4, at the Sully Christian Reformed Church.

Dr. Joseph I. Brinks, pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Sully Cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Van Dyk-Duven Funeral Home in Pella.

Memorials to the Christian Opportunity Center will be accepted.

She died Tuesday evening at Pella Community Hospital.

Survivors are a sister, Sandra K. (Mrs. Lawrence) Van Zee of Sully; two brothers, Ronald E. and Randal L., both of Sully; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Nikkel of Sully; and 10 nieces and nephews.

The daughter of Melvin J. and Pauline Beyer Nikkel, she was born Dec. 31, 1954 near Oskaloosa and was baptised Feb. 6, 1955 at the Sully Reformed Church.

December, 1974, she enrolled at the Christian Opportunity Center at Pella and from January, 1981, she had been a resident of the Intermediate Care Facility/MR Cottage at the Center. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, May 1990
