SULLY - Henrietta Nikkel, 76, a resident of the Pella Community Nursing Home in Pella since February, a former resident of Sully, died Thursday, July 14, at the Pella Community Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Pella Second Christian Reformed Church.

The Rev. Gordon D. Mouw, pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Sully Cemetery.

Friends may call Sunday at the Van Dyk-Duven Funeral Home in Pella and visitation with the family will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorials to the Pella Christian Grade School will be accepted.

Survivors are brother, John, of Kanawa, and a sister, Minnie De Jong, of Pella.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother in infancy, and a sister, Cora Van Veen.

Miss Nikkel, who had been employed at Rolscreen in Pella for 39 years, was a member of the Pella Second Christian Reformed Church.

The daughter of Albert and Catherine Stek Nikkel, she was born Oct. 14, 1917 in Sully and attended Sully Christian Grade School.

She moved to Pella with her parents in the early 1940s and after their death and resided in Pella before moving to Fairhaven West in Pella. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, July 1994
