Anna Perry

Anna Taylor Vodochodsky Perry, 84, 921 N. 4th Ave. W., a resident of Newton most of her life, died Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 4, at the Skiff Medical Center after suffering a heart attack.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home.

The Rev. Bill Van Patten, pastor of the Newton Church of the Nazarene, will conduct services.

Burial will be in Newton Union Cemetery.

Friends may call after 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and visitation with the family will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials to the American Heart Association will be accepted.

Survivors are her husband, Glen; a son, Frank Taylor of Santa Ynez, Calif.; a daughter, Nadine (Mrs. Perry "Bud") Davies of Prescott Valley, Ariz., two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Agnes (Mrs. Char "Shorty") Brown of Newton.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Gilbert Taylor, in 1944 and two grandchildren.

Mrs. Perry was an employee of the Vernon Co., Main's Laundry and Skiff Medical Center.

The daughter of Joseph and Frances Schubert Vodochodsky, she was born Dec. 25, 1908 in Wisconsin.

She was married to Glen Perry Dec. 24, 1948 in Marshalltown. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, August 1992
