PRAIRIE CITY - Funeral services for Carrie Verwers, 78, of Prairie City, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, at the First Reformed Church in Prairie City.

The Rev. Neal Busker, pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial wil be in the Oakwood Cemetery in Pella.

Visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions to the church will be accepted.

She died Tuesday at the Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines.

Survivors are her husband, Henry; three step-sons, Loren Verwers and Lawrence Verwers, both of Prairie City, and Clifford Verwers of Fort Worth, Tex.; seven step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Rick Hulleman of Otley.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Marion, and a sister, Jeannetta.

Mrs. Verwers was a member of the First reformed Church in Prairie City.

The daugher of Henry and Alice Heemstra Hulleman, she was born Nov. 24, 1908 in Marion County and was educated in Marion County schools.
