Philip R. Jarnagin

Philip R. "Ralph" Jarnagin of 3645 Columbia St. died of a heart ailment Monday at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. He was 79. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Southtown Funeral Home. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery at Orilla.

Mr. Jarnagin was born in Colfax and moved to Des Moines from Altoona about 40 years ago. An Army
veteran of World War II, he retired as a heavy machine operator for the Des Moines Water Works.

Survivors include three sons, Earl of Des Moines, Wayne of South Africa and Howard of Hopbottom, Pa.; three daughters, Dorothy Siri of El Solbrante, Calif., Darlene Gandy of Mesquite, Texas, and Jeri Corbitt of Birmingham, Ala.; 20 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
