R. B. Jaennette Dies on Sunday; Rites Wednesday

SULLY - Richard B. Jaennette, 50, a lifelong resident at Jasper County, died Sunday at the Veterans' Administration Hospital in Des Moines.

Masonic services by Newton Lodge No. 59 AF and AM will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Toland-Wallace Funeral Home in Newton.

Paul Craven of Newton will serve as lecturer. Master Masons are to meet at 7 p.m. at the Temple.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Toland-Wallace Funeral Home.

The Rev. H. Eugene Cederholm, pastor of the First Lutheran Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Hewitt Cemetery.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home in Newton.

The flag presentation during the services will be made by the Kellogg American Legion Post.

Survivors are his wife, Helen; three sons, Richard of Sully, Robert of Newton and Roger of Sully; a daughter, Mrs. Steven (Marilyn) Butcher of Grinnell; and his mother, Mrs. Wilbur (Aubrey) Goebel of Panora.

Also surviving are four grandchildren; three brothers, Philip of Newton and Robert and Paul of Glendale, Calif.;and eight sisters, Mrs. William (Marilyn) Musser of California, Mrs. Lawrence (Carol) Shermac of Michigan; Mrs. Robert (Geraldine) Clingenpeel of Indianola, Mrs. Clara Foss of Des Moines, Mrs. Jane Virchow of San Diego, Calif., Mrs. Robert (Marienna) Meeks of Tempe, Ariz., Mrs. Don (Joan) Hadley of Pamona, Calif., and Mrs. Ruth Buffalo of Garwin.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Gerald and Gene.

Mr. Jaennette was a member of the Union Park Masonic Lodge and the Kellog American Legion Post.

He farmed in the Sully community.

The son of Stephen and Aubrey Neal Jaennette, he was born June 17, 1927 in Newton.

He was married to Helen Holmes April 28, 1950 in Newton. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, May 1978
