Marion Rozenberg
Marion "Rozy" Rozenberg, 70, 710 S. 2nd Ave. W., a resident of Newton since 1938, died of cancer at his home Monday, Sept. 30.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church.
The Rev. Jerry Brown, senior pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Newton Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home afternoon today.
Visitation with the family will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials to the First United Methodist Church or Hospice of Jasper County may be left at the funeral home.
Survivors are his wife, Zora D.; a son, Willis "Willie" of West Des Moines; two daughters, Donna (Mrs. Ron) Parish of Monroe and Judy (Mrs. Harry) Dearinger of Newton; six granddaughters; and three great-granddaughters.
Also surviving are two brothers, Andres Rozenberg at Pella and Ben Rozenberg of Urbandale, and a sister Dena Gertsma of Newton.
Mr. Rozenberg was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Henry, Dick and Jacob.
He was a member of the Newton First United Methodist Church.
Mr. Rozenberg was employed at the Maytag Co. for 30 years, 21 years in security and later in parts distribution, prior to his retirement in 1979.
The son of William and Margaret Van Hulzen Rozenberg, he was born Nov. 4, 1920 at Pella and attended rural schools in the Otley area.
He was married to Zora D. Huff, June 8, 1938 at Princeton, Mo. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News September 1991
