COLFAX - Funeral services for Cordia Mae Pigg Rose, 97, of Colfax will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, at Walters-Coburn Funeral home in Colfax.

The Rev. John Mc Kinstry, pastor of the Howard Street Christian Church in Colfax, will conduct services. Burial will be in Colfax Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after noon today. Visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

She died Wednesday evening at Cleaview Manor and Prairie City.

Survivors are a daughter, Frances Pratt of Colfax; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Earl Johnson, in 1921; her second husband, Arthur Rose; a brother, Howard Pigg; and a son, Beuford Johnson.

Mrs. Rose was a member of the Howard Street Christian Church, Basket Club and Sand Hill Grange.

The daughter of Gustavis and Catherine Stillings Pigg, she was born March 30, 1895 in Colfax.

She was married to Earl Johnson and on September 2, 1926 to Arthur Rose at Cedar Rapids. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, December 1992
