Ida Rebertus

Ida Hurwitz Rebertus, 92, of Health Care center of Newton, a former resident of Colfax in Pella, died Thursday, October 25, at Skiff Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Peace Lutheran Church in Pella.

The Reverend Mark Pries, pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Pella.

Memorial contributions to the church will be accepted.

Friends may call at the funeral home all day today. Visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Survivors are two sons, Dr. Robert Rebertus of Mendota Heights, Minn., and Dr. Donald G. Rebertus of Bloomington, Minn.; two daughters, Darlene (Mrs. Marion) Mc Daniel of Newton and Maxine (Mrs. Wayne) Shutts of Sully; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Esther (Mrs. Norman) Falcon of Springville.

He was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three sisters in infancy and four brothers.

Mrs. Rebertus, a practical nurse, had been employed most recently at the Pella Nursing Home.

She was a former member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Oskaloosa and was a charter member of Peace Lutheran Church in Pella.

The daughter of Theodore and Olga Hurtwitz, she was born April 4, 1898 in Waverley.

She was married to John J. Rebertus Dec. 24, 1916 in Sumner. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News October 1990
