Eva Mae Eatwell

Eva Mae Waite Eatwell, 94, former area resident, died February 2, 1997, at the Del Capri Terrace Home in Dan Diego, California.

She was Born August 24, 1902 in Williamsburg, Ohio. She was one of six children and was the last one of the family. Her family moved to Iowa when she was seven years old.

She married Thomas Eatwell on January 14, 1920 and had one daughter, Lucille Hildreth. She and her sister Mildred, drove to California in 1959 to be closer to her daughter. She drove her car until she was over 90 years of age.

She was employed by J. C. Penny Co. for 16 years, 8 years in Ames, Iowa and 8 years in North Park in San Diego. At age 65, she began baby-sitting.

She was a member of the Scott Memorial Church in San Diego.

She was in her own home until July, 1996.

She and her husband, Thomas, had lived in the Mingo, Farrar, and Ames areas until his death.
