SEARSBORO - Warren V. Stanley, 72, of Searsboro died Thursday evening, May 26, at the Grinnell Community Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Lynnville Friends Church. Burial will be in Lynnville Friends Cemetery.

Friends may call at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home in Newton after 9 a.m. Sunday and visitation with the family will be held from 4 to 5 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials to the Lynnville Friends Church may be left at the funeral home.

Among survivors are his wife, Mildred; and two daughters, Nancy Toppenberg of Newton and Linda Fleagle of Waterloo. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, May 1994

Warren V. Stanley

Searsboro - Funeral services for Warren Stanley, 72, at Searsboro, a lifelong resident of Poweshiek County, were held today, May 31, at the Lynnville Friends Church.

The Rev. Martin Miller, pastor of the church, conducted services. Burial was in the Friends Church in Lynnville.

Visitation with the family was held Monday at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home in Newton.

He died Thursday at Grinnell General Hospital following a heart attack.

Survivors are his wife, Mildred; two daughters, Nancy (Mrs. Ron) Toppenberg of Newton and Linda (Mrs. Jerry) Fleagle of Waterloo; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Devere and in infancy, Harold.

Mr. Stanley, who had farmed in the Lynnville area, was a member of the Lynnville Friends Church, was a member of the board of the First State Bank of Lynnville and was a former member of the "Proclamation's," a man's gospel quartet.

The son of H. L. "Vern" and Katherine L. Scott Stanley, he was born June 8, 1921 in Searsboro and was a graduate of Searsboro High School.

He was married to Mildred Kruseman August 19, 1942 in Sully.

Mr. Stanley had been residing on the family homestead where he was born. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, May 1994
