BAXTER - Funeral services for Lois Eilene Munn Stubbe, 75, of Baxter were held today, Oct. 19, at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Baxter.

The Rev. Tom Carpe, interim pastor of the church, conducted services. Burial was in Restland Cemetery in Baxter.

Memorials to the church will be accepted.

Boyd-Davis Funeral Home in Baxter handled arrangements.

She died Friday at the mercy Hospital medical Center in Des Moines.

Survivors are her husband, Bennie; a daughter, Mrs. Erwin (Dixie) Gillette of Newton; two sons, Larry of Newton and Don of Marshalltown; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are two sisters, Mabel Burch of Omaha, Neb., and Nellie Gold of Bedford.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, five brothers and two great-grandsons.

Mrs. Stubbe, a homemaker, was a member of the Baxter Congregational United Church of Christ and Senior Citizens.

She was a member of the Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) and volunteered at the Food Pantry, both of Newton.

The daughter of David and Ida Mae Loupee Munn, she was born October 22, 1916 in Taylor County, was raised in the Baxter area and was in 1935 graduate of Baxter Community High School.

She was married to Bennie Stubbe June 12, 1938 in Unionville Mo. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, October, 1992
