COLFAX - Charles Marion Mc Neer, 83, a longtime resident of Colfax, died Wednesday, July 6, at the Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax.

The Rev. Joseh Roost, pastor of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Colfax, will conduct services. Burial will be in McKeever Cemetery, North of Colfax.

Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Friday and visitation with the family will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials to the church or the Colfax fire Department building fund will be accepted.

Survivors are daughter, Dolores Linn of Colfax; a son, David Daniel "Dan" of Colfax; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren; and a sister, Adeline Kazluski of Chicago, Illinois.

Mr. Mc Neer was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters.

In addition to being employed by the Colfax Bottling Co. and the Maytag Co. of Newton for 24 years, he did papering and painting work in the Colfax area.

Mr. Mc Neer Was a Member of the United Auto Workers Union.

The son of Mary Ann and Amelia Mc Neer, he was born October 24, 1910 in Rosemond. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, July 1994
