COLFAX - Agnes Emma Hughes Mc Neer, 78, of Colfax dies Tuesday, Nov. 6, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Howard Street Christian Church.

The Rev. John Mc Kinstry, pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Mc Keever Cemetery, north of Colfax.

Friends may call after noon Thursday at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax and family visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials to the church or the American Cancer Society may be left at the funeral home.

Survivors are a son, David "Dan" of Colfax; a daughter, Dolores Linn Mc Neer of Colfax; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and a brother, John Hughes of Newton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and three sisters.

Mrs. Mc Neer, who did home nursing, had worked in area nursing homes.

The daughter of David and Emma Stienberger Hughes, she was born May 25, 1912 in Colfax. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, November 1990
