Mrs. Roy Foster Died Saturday Evening Of A Heart Attack

Mrs. Bessie Thompson Foster, wife of Roy Foster of 707 Fourth avenue was stricken with a heart attack while downtown Saturday afternoon. She was taken to a local hospital where she passed away that evening.

Mrs. Foster was born in Lynnville March 8, 1895 and had attained the age of 57 years, 10 months and 29 days. She was married to Mr. Foster in Marshalltown on Oct. 30, 1917. Surviving besides the husband are five daughters, Mrs. Paul Foster of Clemons, Mrs. Homer McCormack of Davenport and Mrs. Virgil Johnson, Mrs. Floyd Innis and Miss Nancy Foster, all of Grinnell, and one son, LeRoy Foster of Kellogg. There are also eight sisters, two brothers and 17 grandchildren.

Mrs. Foster had lived in Grinnell for 11 years, coming here from Newburg. She was a member of the Methodist church.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Smith funeral home with burial in Hazelwood Cemetery.

NOTE: Death was Feb. 7, 1953. Funeral was held Feb. 10, 1953.
