True Patterson

BAXTER - True Patterson, 90, of Colonial Manor in Baxter, formerly of Suncrest Village in Newton, a lifelong resident of Jasper County, died Thursday evening, July 5, at the Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines of heart failure.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home in Newton. Burial will be in the Bethel Cemetery in rural Baxter.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday. Visitation with the family will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials to a fund in his name may be left at the funeral home.

Survivors are his wife, Florence, of Colonial Manor in Baxter; four sons, LeRoy of Fairfax, Dale of Billings, Mont., Ronald of Casper, Wyo., and Wilmer of California; 17 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, a daughter, and several brothers and sisters.

Mr. Patterson, a former Maytag Co. employee, was a retired farmer and Carpenter.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Patterson, he was born May 27, 1900 in Jasper County.

He was married to Florence Raridon in Newton. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, July 1990
