Hester Jackson

COLFAX - Hester Bartholow Jackson, 91, a former longtime Colfax resident, died Sunday, May 12 at the Bayard Care Center in Bayard.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Colfax United Methodist Church.

The Rev. Michael Orthel, pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Colfax Cemetery.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the Walters-Coburn Funeral home in Colfax.

Survivors are two daughters, Muriel Sprong of Des Moines and Mae Schauf of Ocala, Fla.; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, E. Harold, a Methodist minister, two brothers and two sisters.

She was a member of the Colfax United Methodist Church.

The daughter of Iran and Alta Trissler Bartholow, she was born August 30, 1899 in Decatur County.

She was a graduate of Weldon High School and Simpson College in Indianola.

She was married to E. Harold Jackson October 10, 1922 in Indianola.

Mrs. Jackson moved from Colfax to Coon Rapids in 1983. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, May 1991
