Hazel Merritt Parks

NEWTON, Ia., - Hazel Merritt Parks, 95, of Newton died of a heart ailment Friday at the Story County Hospital in Nevada. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mrs. Parks was born in Allerton and lived in Des Moines most of her life until moving to Newton in 1986. She was a retired sales-person for Montgomery Ward and Sears and was a member of the Glen Echo Christian Church.

Survivors include two sons, Gordon Merritt Parks of Dade City, Fla., and Garold Parks of Ames; a brother, William Merritt of Osage; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Hamilton's Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
