ANNA M. SMITH

COLFAX, IA. - Anna M. Smith of Colfax died of kidney failure Monday at Mitchellville Care Center. She was 79. The body was cremated and a graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Colfax Cemetery.

Mrs. Smith retired as a clerical worker for Look magazine. She was born in Des Moines and lived in Earlham 20 years until returning to Colfax in 1984.

Among survivors are two sons, James Van Elsen of Colfax and Ronald Van Elsen of Des Moines; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Colfax Senior Citizens Center. The family will meet with friends at Mitchellville Christian Church following the service. Hamiltons Funeral Home in Des Moines is handling arrangements.
