COLFAX - Elmer L. Seieroe, 75, a longtime resident of Colfax, died Thursday evening June 30 at the Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Colfax United Methodist Church

Friends may call after noon Saturday at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax and visitation with the family will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

COLFAX - Funeral services for Elmer L. Seieroe, 75, a longtime resident of Colfax, were held Sunday afternoon, July 3, at the Colfax United Methodist Church.

The Rev. Michael Orthel, pastor of the church, conducted services. Burial was in Colfax Cemetery.

Jones-Willis Post of the American Legion in Colfax conducted a flag presentation ceremony at the cemetery

Mr. Seieroe died Tuesday at the Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines.

The survivors are his wife, Ellen; two sons and daughters-in-law, Vernon M. and Julianne of Boulder, Colo., and James L. and Debra of Colfax; a daughter, Amy Seieroe of Newton, and four grandchildren.

Also surviving are three brothers, Leonard and Westley, both of Ute, and Tom of Sac City; and a sister, Charlotte Behemer of Des Moines.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Edward and Harold.

Mr. Seieroe, who had farmed for a time, had been employed at the Maytag Co., in Newton from 1948 until retiring in 1978.

Mr. Seieroe, who served in the Army during World War II, was a member of the Colfax United Methodist Church, Jones-Willis Post American Legion, Colfax Kiwanis Club and the Colfax Senior Citizens.

The son of Louie and Etta Kessler Seieroe, he was born Oct. 10, 1918 in Dunlap.

He was married to Helen Hunter in 1946 at the Little Brown Church near Nashua.
