Obituaries 1920-1940 taken from the files of the Prairie City News, Prairie City, Iowa, page 34.

Rebecca Ellen Stumbaugh, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Stumbaugh, was born in Franklin County, Pennsylvania September 1926 at the age of 86 years, 8 months and 9 days.

At the age of 15 years, she was married to Columbus A. Breckenridge.

Four children – John, who died in infancy, William A., who was living with his mother at the time of her death, Margaret, who preceded her in death and Mrs. Mary Winegar of Prairie City.

Mrs. Breckenridge, with her husband, three children and her sister, Mrs. Rachel Hanley, moved to Iowa in the year 1871. They settled on a farm four miles west of Prairie City where Mr. Breckenridge died at the age of 76.

Surviving are her son, William A., one daughter, Mrs. D. H. Winegar, eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Burial at Westview Cemetery.
