Mary E. Jacklin was born in Somerset County, New Jersey, May 8, 1856, being the second child of John and Charlotte Jacklin, who came to this country from England. At the age of two years she came with her parents to Illinois where she lived until thirteen years old.
At this age they moved to Iowa and from that time on until her death, which occurred January 9, 1926, she had been a resident of Prairie City and vicinity.
She was married to Omar George Blodgett.
Two children - Harriet Dessa and Harold Omar, who still survive her.
Also surviving are four sisters and one brother - Mrs. James Greenlee of Miliken, Colorado, Mrs. J. M. Furnoy of Paonia, Colorado, Mrs. Vielona Black oaf Guthrie Center, Iowa, Mrs. Albert Bates of Des Moines, Iowa, and Wilkin Jacklin of Canada.
Burial at Waveland Cemetery.
