William Keating died November 14, 1886 at the home of his sister, Mrs. M. Clavin, of Spring Hill Kansas.

William, accompanied by his widowed mother, had started for Thatcher, Colorado in quest of better health. They stopped at his sister's enroute.

He was aged 28 years, 10 months and 25 days.

Burial at Prairie City.
