Suicide
M. McClosky, a highly respected citizen of Rhodes, committed suicide last Friday evening, by taking carbolic acid. The fear that a cancerous grown on his lip would ultimately cause his death is supposed to have incited him to do the deed.--Des. Moines News, April 27.

The deceased is the father of Mrs. Charlie Coppersmith, of our city, and was married in Newton and lived here for a number of years,. Ever since his marriage he has lived in Jasper county. The affair has caused profound sorrow. The funeral was held on Sunday.
