Sam Sage, one of the best known coal diggers in the hollow, died last Sunday morning at his residence in Oswalt, after an illness of less than twelve hours, with inflammation of the bowels. Mr. Sage has recently been employed in one the Des Moines mines and was on his way home to make an over-Sunday visit with his wife when attacked by the fatal malady at Mitchellville.
