Died - Sept. 9th, 1894, at 7 A.M. at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. John Breeden, 4 miles southwest of Newburg, in this county, Jacob Ludwick, aged nearly 87 years.

He was born in Mercer County Pennsylvania, in 1807; was married to Hester Meyers in Hamilton County, Ohio, in 1828; there were born to them 15 children, 9 of whom are now living; he soon after his marriage moved to Ripley County, Indiana, where he cleared a large farm. In 1865 he moved to Rock Creek township, this county, where he has since resided.

He was partially paralyzed about 12 years ago, but died of old age and did not apparently suffer much. He was well known for his strictly honest and upright Christian life, and was beloved by all.~The Newton (IA) Journal, Wednesday, Sept. 12, 1894
