Sudden Death
Last Wednesday morning John M. Reed, one of the proprietors of the Reed Mill, seven miles west of Newton, fell dead in his own house. He was in usual health, rose early to relieve some neighbors watching his sick child, and without a moment's notice of premonitory pain, fell dead upon the floor. He was about 55 years old, and leaves a family. He was an excellent citizen, and his loss will be felt by a large circle of friends. ~ The Newton Free Press, November 20, 1872.
