Bertha Wilson Dies Friday

Mrs. Thomas (Bertha) Wilson, 64, 704 S 3rd Ave. W., longtime resident of Jasper County, died at 9:40 p.m. Friday at Iowa Methodist Hospital, Des Moines. Services are tentatively set for Tuesday at Johnson Funeral Chapel. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Alfred (Theona) Hauge, Metz, and a nephew, Claude Hauge, Hawaii.

She was preceded in death by her husband, an electrical contractor, in December 1967, a brother, Donald, and her parents who died the same day in January 1949.

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M.T. Miller, she was born June 8, 1905 in the Metz community southwest of Newton and educated in the Metz area schools. She moved to Newton in 1949. Mrs. Wilson had been hospitalized four weeks. ~ Newton Daily News, August 16 or 18, 1969.
