Obituary
E. Gerald Yost, 84, of Newton died of a heart ailment Sunday at Skiff Medical Center. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church, of which he was a member. Burial will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Yost was born in Osceola and moved to Newton in 1972 after living in Mason City and in Minnesota and North Dakota. He retired as superintendent of Great Lakes Oil Co., and was a Minnesota oil industry lobbyist and member of several oil groups.
Surviving are his wife, Marjorie; a daughter, Jane Hanson of Whitehall, Mont.; a brother, Raymond of Osceola; and three grandchildren.
Friends may call after 1 p.m. today at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to his church.~ The Des Moines Register, May 10, 1995
