A SUDDEN DEATH - Mr. David Van Lew, a painter of Ft. Dodge, was killed, last Wednesday morning. While at work on the fourth story of the Duncombe House, the scaffolding gave way, precipitating him and a companion to the ground. He died three hours after, but his companion will recover.
Mr. Van Lew is a nephew of Mrs. W. H. Dodge and Mrs. J. R. Crawford, both of Newton. His father, David Van Lew, is in the city for a few days.
