Mrs. W. H. Draper died on July 28, aged 79. She has been a resident of Jasper County since 1851.

Prairie City (IA) News, 1894Mrs. William H. Draper died July 28, 1894. Her maiden name was Nancy Means.
She was born in Rockingham County, North Carolina February 2, 1815.
The family moved to Indiana in 1828.
She was married to Mr. Draper March 3, 1833.
They had five children, four living.
In 1844, they moved to Clinton County. In 1850, they came to Iowa and settled near the present town of Hartford. The following [year?] they came to this vicinity.
She was a member of the Christian church.
