Gaylord Franklin Faidley

Gaylord Franklin Faidley, age 83, a lifelong resident of the Prairie City and Colfax area passed away Sunday October 1 at Clearview Manor in Prairie City.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Thursday, October 5 at the Prairie City Christian Church with Rev. Robert Price conducting the service. Walters-Coburn Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Burial will take place at Waveland Cemetery in Prairie City.

Gaylord was born on January 30, 1917 in Prairie City. His parents were Clarence and Vera Clymer Faidley. He graduated from Prairie City High School in 1935, and was a farmer and livestock feeder.

He is survived by his wife Leona and children Donald and wife Dorothy of Colfax and LeVern and wife Barbara of Rome, Italy. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Wayne.

He was a member of the Prairie City Christian Church, Leader Mound Prairie Future Farmers 4-H Club, served on Jasper County 4-H Committee, Jasper County Extension Council, member and past President of the Jasper County Agricultural Society, Jasper County Soil Conservation District, also chairman of JCSCD for two years, Township Trustee and Clerk, Farm Bureau, Charter member Iowa Cattleman's Association, Longtime Church Deacon, named Deacon Emeriahs in 1977.
