MRS. BENJAMIN ANSWERS THE CALL
Well Known Jasper County Woman Dies After Short Illness - Funeral Saturday Morning

Mrs. William Benjamin, age 36, died at her home two miles south of Newton at 3 o'clock Thursday afternoon. She had been sick but a week and her death comes as a great shock to the members of her family and her many many friends of whom had not learned of her illness.

Mrs. Benjamin is a daugher of Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Awtry. She was born in Newton and has spent practically all of her life in and around Newton. Early in life she united with the Methodist Episcopal church and since that time has been a devoted and consistent member. She was married about six years ago to William Benjamin since which time she has lived on their farm near Newton.

Mrs. Benjamin is survived by her husband, three children, Cresse, William, Jr., and and infant three days old; her parents Mrs. and Mrs. A. M. Awtry, of Newton; a brother M. A. Awtry of Newton; and three sisters. Mrs. Merle Van Gelden of Colfax, Mrs. Cy Hopkins of Colfax, and Cecile at home.

The funeral will be private and will be held from the home Saturday morning, at 10 o'clock. Dr. W. H. Heppe, pastor of the Methodist Episcapol Church officiating.

Burial will be made in Wildcat Cemetery.

Influenza, with child birth, is assigned as the cause of her death.

The sorrowing relatives have the tender and sincere sympathy of a host of friends in their time of sorrow.
